wils0n river trail(footbridge-'mook forest center)
Location: Tillamook State Forest, Oregon
Trail Type: 100% Single track. In and out or shuttle.
Distance: 7 miles
Directions: From Portland-Hwy 26 west to hwy 6 (tillamook). about 13 miles weat of the summit, park at the FootBridge trailhead. Proceed west a bit to find the footbridge that crosses high over the wilson river. Shut up and ride from here.
Trail Description: I’ve been dying to try this trail for at least a year. it’s a realtively new trail and is open to mountain bikes, hikers and of course unis. It’s a welcome addition to our winter trail arsenal since its elevation hovers around 500ft. It should be rideable all winter long except during the occasional snow storm (which, incidently, ocurred the week before the Bastards hit the trail)
The trail begins by crossing a beautiful gorge over a brand new footbridge (hence the name footbridge for the trailhead)
followed by a steep drop into the river canyon, then a couple of miles of rolling singletrack which traverses the hillside before coming to wilson falls. Cross the gorgeous 100ft waterfall anyway you can

then beging descending back down to the river. this section is mostly flat, rolling, and fun. We ran into too much snow to complete the whole route, but we’ll likely be back this spring!
The trail never really leaves the busy highway very far behind. This isn’t much of a wilderness experience, but hey, it’s sweet LEGAL single track. stop whining.
there are also several stream crossings along the way. choose your own path
