Highlights of the Stumptown Joustdown 2007
Saturday June 9th was a soggy-ass-day. The UB’s rallied at the Armory early for some planning. Lances/unicycles/shields and libations were loaded up on bike trailers and the crew headed South to the Tournament.
Doper came up with the brilliant idea of tandem unicycle jousting and for the first time in history there were several rounds of action.
The Unicycle Jousting class was the largest Jousting class with 7 different competitors. After several exciting rounds Max Taint took home the trophy. Max Taint and Saint Pete were an incredible match up and we look forward to seeing the at MCBF
One of the big surprises of the day was Doper, who after learning to ride a tall bike 5 minutes earlier decided to enter the tallbike jousting class and made it to the finals! In the finals Doper’s steed failed him and he went down hard (never trust anything with 2 wheels), after a quick ER visit it was determined that Doper was OK and he hopes to return in the next week.
The Joustdown also goes down as the first time Saint Pete joined forces with the UnicycleBastards. Saint Pete is a fucking madman that was destroying the two wheeled competition while perched atop his custom 6’ Giraffe with a gnarly 26” wheel. The Saint Pete vs Max Taint is the match to watch @ MCBF.
Despite the weather and injuries a damn good time was had by all!
